Coach Education at Northumbria

Working closely with National Governing Bodies for sport, Northumbria University Sport delivers an extensive Coach Education programme throughout the year which offers you the chance to become qualified as a sports coach or official.

Whether you want to get involved in coaching your team, supporting a university team or a local community club, our Coach Education programme is designed to support you in gaining the additional qualifications needed to do so.  In addition this will also help to enhance your CV and aid in your career development.

Our courses are run locally at Coach Lane campus or Sport Central - our new £30 million sports facility!

Northumbria University Sport is keen to support individuals through their qualifications and may do this financially or by creating opportunities to put you’re coaching skills to practice in a practical environment.

Students who undertake qualifications through our programmes are actively encouraged to become part of our volunteer and intern programmes to kick start a career in sport and to get ahead of the game.
