BUCS

The Northumbria Archery Club has represented the University in various indoor and outdoor Championships for over five years. Currently the club competes in the North England University Archery League (NEUAL) and enters regular BUCS Championships as well as other national Tournaments on an annual basis. Archery finished 33rd in the BUCS Indoor Championships in 2011 and is hopeful of an improvement in both tournament and league performance in 2012.

Number of squads: 1 x Mixed Squad

Eligibility: Students for BUCS. Students and Staff for local competition.

Saturday 17:00-21:00 Lipman Building

Kit: Participants purchase own kit (sport specific) 

Membership: Students £80, Staff £100.
However if you take out Platinum Membership you are entitled to Sport Club Memberships for 2 club (maximum).

Performance Sport

Athletes selected onto our Performance Sport Programme benefit from a range of specialist support designed to help talented athletes realise their potential. Each athlete receives a package of support up to a value of £8,000, which is based on their individual needs.

We welcome applications for all sports including Archery, and both home and international students, however we prioritise applications from athletes from sports in which we work in partnership with the National Governing Bodies to deliver their Excel or Performance programmes.

Therefore please be aware that we prioritise applications from athletes within Golf, Netball, Volleyball, Fencing, and Judo.

Scholarships

Every year Team Northumbria awards generous Sport Scholarships to talented athletes studying at Northumbria University.

There are four types of Scholarships available:

  • Platinum
  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Bronze
