The Northumbria Sport Foundation is a discrete charity that was established in 2005 and works in partnership with Northumbria University to deliver sport to the community.
The aims of the Northumbria Sport Foundation are to:

Introduce people from the North East of England to participation opportunities in sport and health related activity

Provide player pathway opportunities that allow young people tp progress in their chosen sport

Establish opportunities for young people to gain experience and qualifications in sport and progress as leaders, volunteers and professionals

Work with strategic partner organisations to develop the region's sporting infrastructure, in a strategic way, to its social and economic development

Ensure that opportunities are accessible to everyone regardless of background or personal circumstances and to encourage barriers to be broken down for hard-to-reach groups
By working in partnership with Northumbria University and its academic schools, the Northumbria Sport Foundation is able to offer an exciting, innovative range of services to schools, community groups and other organisations. All activities are delivered to an exceptional standard by specialist staff and students from the University.
